There
were many Mothers in the home before World War 2. The husband brought
home the bacon, and the wife devoted herself to running the home and
caring for the children. It is true; some women had careers as schoolteachers,
nurses and many other professions such as secretaries and telephone
operators etc. The housewife did not think it was a menial position
or to be in servitude, because it had not become an issue as it is
today. These women helped their husband’s stretch the dollar
by sewing, cooking, doing the housework, shopping, and many other
methods were improvised using ingenuity and skill.
When our men went to war in World War 2, it became necessary for women
to work in Defense Plants in order to produce the necessary implements
of war. And so it was that our culture was never the same again.
Now there were baby sitters to pay, and lunch expenses, gas and cars
to be purchased, clothes to be bought and on and on. The modern woman
emerged in the 20th century! But at what price? No longer having mother
in the home produced latchkey kids. Not having either parent to monitor
their children, delinquency of minors began to escalate, and you know
the rest of the story!
“Wait till your father gets home” was a threat to the
average kid to keep him in line. However who was going to say “Wait
till your father and mother gets home? And furthermore, divorces were
on the rise, so some fathers never came home, and sometimes mother
never came home! Yes the hand that rocked the cradle, that ruled the
world, was now rocked by baby sitters, and many too immature to be
reliable.
Now the statistics would be staggering regarding children placed in
foster homes because fathers and mothers sought their own selfish
desires. Drugs and alcohol, pornography, infidelity, murders, rapes,
and all kinds of evil continue to tear down the home, which is the
building block of society. Search the eyes of these “orphans”
of our country, who were brought into a world of insanity. Some were
adopted at birth. But what of the “silent majority” that
were killed before they ever had a chance to be born? Where is the
spokesman that will go to bat for them?
What will it take? It will take an act of God! Mankind cannot save
itself! Oh Father, “Thy Kingdom Come!”
