Do
you have eternal life in Christ? God has provided a way for you to
be saved and to live with him throughout all eternity. But salvation
is about so much more than escaping hell and going to heaven when
we die. God wants to have a personal relationship with you starting
now, in this life. He wants to show you the kind of life that he created
you to live.
Jesus didn’t come to start another world religion; he came so
that we could be reconciled back to God and have a personal relationship
with him. God loves you so much that he gave his only Son to die for
you. Below are four simple steps to help you to understand and receive
God’s eternal plan of salvation. You can begin your personal
relationship with God starting today- all you must do is simply believe
and receive this free gift from God.
Know that God loves you!
The Bible says, “God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son, that whoever believes on him shall not perish but have
eternal life.” (John 3:16) Because you are part of this world,
this includes you.
The problem is that…
All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong.
This is called sin, and our sins have separated us from God.
The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory
of God.” (Romans 3:23) God is perfect and holy, and our sins
separate us from God forever. The Bible also says, “The wages
of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23)
The
good news is that…
God sent his only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.
Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on
the cross to pay the penalty of our sins. “God demonstrates
his own love for us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for
us.” (Romans 5:8)
Jesus rose from the dead and now lives in heaven with God his Father.
He offers us the gift of eternal life—of living forever with
him if we accept him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus said, “I
am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except
by me.” (John 14:6) God reaches out in love to you and wants
you to be his child. “As many as received him, to them he gave
the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on
his name.” (John 1:12) You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to
forgive your sins and come into your life as your Lord and Savior
today.
If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, here is
a prayer for you to pray.
Please know that it is not the prayer that saves you, it is only trusting
in Christ that can save you from sin and eternal death. This prayer
is simply a way for you to confess your faith in him and thank him
for providing for your salvation.
“God, I acknowledge that I have sinned before you and repent
of all my sins. I believe that your Son Jesus Christ took the punishment
for my sins on the cross and has delivered me from eternal death.
I now receive his sacrifice and place my trust in you for salvation.
I want to begin my personal relationship with you today. Thank you
for your wonderful grace, mercy and forgiveness- the gift of eternal
life!
