There is a time, which comes to all men and women alike. That time
is a time of facing their greatest fears. Job lamented in the book
of Job, “The thing that I greatly feared has come upon me.”
However, was that particular tragedy that came upon him a foreknowledge
of impending disaster? Or was this tribulation far beyond what he
could imagine in his mind? We cannot know for certain of all he feared,
but certainly he could not prepare for all the evil that had come
upon him, except to make his Creator his very lifeline!
Likewise, we cannot foretell the things that will come to us in the
remainder of our lives, personal prophecies notwithstanding.”
For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when that which is
perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.”
1 Corinthians 13:9-10 KJV
Now we must face the critical question, how can we cope with such
an unpredictable future? We come to the truth of this saying, “I
don’t know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future!”
Knowing our lives and times are in our heavenly Father’s hands
should make us want to draw closer to him every day. We should want
to do his will every day of our lives and trust him in the good times
and the bad times, in sunshine and shadow.
Having this knowledge should not make us dread the future, for many
blessings are coming our way and will temper the things that will
try us.
All that comes to us is working for our good in the final analysis.
Remember we are in the palm of God’s hand, and he will make
a way of escape so that we will be able to bear it!
