It’s now the beginning of a New Year and many people have spent time making new resolutions for their lives. We may not realize it but with each New Year the Lord also has new resolutions for our lives as well. If we have the spiritual ears to hear him with, he will reveal his resolution to us by the Spirit. What is a resolution anyway? It is a course of action determined or decided on. God has already determined or decided on a course of action for our lives but it’s up to us to lay down our own plans and receive his.

In his word he assures us that he gives us everything that we need by the Spirit in order to run the spiritual race that he has marked out for our lives. We can’t run that race effectively though if we’re burdened down with weights and sins. This is why it’s imperative that we cast off anything in this current season that’s been harassing, attacking or weighing us down. As we do this and look to Jesus, we’ll be able to focus better on the race that God has for us in 2012 and run it with perseverance. (Hebrews 12:1-2)

This month we are providing teaching on how believers can cast off the weights of depression, the yoke of the law, sickness and disease. When we look to the Lord as our Healer and Deliverer as well as our Savior, he can bring us the victories that we need in these areas of our lives. God loves us and it’s his will that we prosper and are in good health. But we can only prosper to the degree that our souls prosper. This is why we are admonished to have our minds transformed and renewed with the Word of God. When the thoughts of our minds line up with the thoughts in the mind of Christ, our souls will prosper abundantly. As we prosper, this will also help us to fulfill God’s plan for our lives and we will be able to do this with hope, joy and peace in our hearts.
